University Mail Services is pleased to introduce PitneyShip, a cloud-based shipping system for managing USPS package shipments. Departmental PitneyShip accounts will also receive discounted shipping rates, from 15 to 50 cents off smaller packages up to a 25% discount on larger boxes. The bigger the package, the bigger the discount!
PitneyShip will provide departments with comprehensive shipping and tracking features to better manage their USPS shipments:
- Create a shipment and USPS shipping label
- Create a ship request that will allow University Mail Services to print and apply the label
- Print discounted rate USPS labels using your department printer
- Save addresses to a departmental address book
- Verify shipping addresses in the USPS system
- Track USPS packages, including date and time of carrier delivery
Departments interested in getting a PitneyShip account should contact University Mail Services at mailservices@unc.edu to schedule a system demonstration. Demonstrations can be scheduled over Zoom or in-person at the Mail Services office in the Bioinformatics Building at 130 Mason Farm Rd.
